Weird Wednesday: The Zombie Apocalypse

Zombies are the grossest things ever (in my own humble opinion). They’re falling apart, oozing, and all around disgusting. For whatever reason a zombie is reanimated after their original death. Many reasons exist as to why this is so; radioactive slim, black magic (voo-doo), a man made virus, and obviously a zombie bite its self. Did I miss any?
imgres.jpgBut the worst part is that they don’t even realize they’re dead. They walk around being all gross and never realize the horror they’re in. They may be “alive” but they are far from living.
Romans 6:14 (ESV) is a great passage about viewing being dead versus being alive. It says:
“1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin that grace may abound? By no means! How can we who died to sin still live in it? Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”
When we accept Christ and are baptized, we are dead to our sin and buried with Him. We then arise to a new life. Once we have ‘died’ we cannot continue to sin because we remain dead and rob ourselves of life. Not only that, but Christ died and was raised so the we have the opportunity of a new life.
Romans 6:7 (ESV) re-iterates this point:
“For one who has died has been set free from sin.”
Zombies are total slaves to the one thing they desire: human brains. The only way to take them down is to destroy their brains. (Don’t even get me started on the horror of that. I really hate zombies!)
Sin is the same way. Once we have died with Christ and taken on Hid life, we have to ‘destroy’ that part of the brain and change the way we think and act so we won’t be a slave to sin or our human brains. Christ freed me from slavery with His death on the cross and I don’t ever intend to give up that gift (Eph 2:8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God) or ever look back.
Don’t be a part of the Zombie Uprising! If you are, break the chains and declare your freedom! I guarantee you won’t took back either!
